Red Dead Redemption Hits Netflix, PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and Mobile on December 2

Rockstar Games saddles up with a surprise announcement today: The 2010 Western masterpiece Red Dead Redemption and its zombie-fueled expansion Undead Nightmare are galloping to modern platforms on December 2, 2025. These new ports will hit PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, Android (standalone), and Netflix Games(?), complete with free digital upgrades for PS4, original Switch, and Xbox One owners, plus save data carryover on PlayStation and Switch.

Enhanced Features Across Platforms

This edition includes all the Game of The Year edition content for Red Dead, as well as the fantastic Undead Nightmare DLC campaign that is maybe even better than the base game in my opinion. In addition to all the content you'll also get the following enhancements:

  • PS5/Xbox Series X|S: 60fps, enhanced image quality, HDR, up to 4K resolution.

  • Switch 2: 60fps at high resolution via DLSS, HDR, mouse controls on Joy-Cons.

  • Mobile (iOS/Android/Netflix): Touch-optimized controls; Netflix version free for subscribers (downloadable via the Netflix app).

Developed with Double Eleven (PS4/Switch ports) and Cast Iron Games, this new remaster of RDR will launch for consoles on Dec. 2nd while the mobile and Netflix version will arrive on Dec. 4th. PS Plus Subscribers and GTA+ members will also get the game in their libraries on launch day!

Rockstar also says that Red Dead Redemption owners on Xbox One, PS4, and Switch will get free upgrades to the new version on launch. Here is the info from the announcement:

Current owners on PS4, Nintendo Switch, or the digital backward compatible version on Xbox One will be able to upgrade digitally for free. Anyone who owns the PS4 version can utilize previous PS4 save data to pick up where they left off, and Switch 2 players can continue with their previous save data from the previous Nintendo Switch console.

Hopefully this is just the first of many updates we get from Rockstar in the next couples months. I'm still hoping for that Read Dead Redemption 2 Remaster sometime soon. Stay saddled up with GameMinr.com and we'll keep you updated on all the news.
