Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Konami stole the spotlight with the reveal of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, a new entry developed in collaboration with Evil Empire and Twin Motion. Set 23 years after the events of previous titles, it promises classic vampire-slaying action in a gorgeous modern package, and it's launching in 2026! The trailer showcased fluid combat, gothic environments, and nods to fan-favorite characters like Sypha. This could be the shot in the arm the franchise needs after years of remakes.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Solid Snake fans got their fix with the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, arriving August 27th. This volume brings the first-ever PS5 port of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots alongside Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, complete with updated visuals and quality-of-life improvements. It's a dream for longtime fans eager to revisit Kojima's masterpieces without tracking down old hardware.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

We got another look at Star Wars: Galactic Racer, a high-stakes, racing game set in the Outer Rim. Coming to PS5 in 2026, it reimagines promises to let us all live out our pod racing fantasies and race our way through intense galactic leagues. The gameplay trailer highlighted blistering speeds, customizable ships, and explosive tracks that capture the Star Wars thrill. Honestly, this looks like the F-Zero sequel I'm been waiting on for the last 20 years, I can't wait.

God of War: Sons of Sparta

Santa Monica Studio surprised everyone with God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D action-platformer shadow-dropped and available today on PS5. Partnering with Mega Cat Studios, it explores a younger Kratos and brother Deimos navigating the brutal Agoge training in ancient Sparta. The side-scrolling format delivers pixel-perfect combat and mythological lore, perfect for fans craving more in the God of War universe. At just $19.99, it's an great entry point building toward the bigger God of War trilogy remake and hopefully a new entry in the series coming in the years ahead.

2026 Looks Stacked for PS5

In my opinion this State of Play has a huge success, highlighting revivals like Castlevania and Metal Gear with a fun new take on God of War and the exciting new Star Wars racer. It looks like 2026 could be a banner year for Playstation players. There were also several indie and third-party teases that rounded out the show, ensuring Sony has something for every gamer.
