Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Single-Player Demo is Mostly Available Now
The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds single player demo that we wrote about last week is now available for Playstation, PC, and Xbox, but not Nintendo Switch. In a tweet this morning Sega reported that a technical issue was preventing the demo from appearing on the Nintendo eShop and that it should be there soon.
There could be another reason though. In hopes of recapturing the Sega spirit of the early 90's Sega released a 'commercial' for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds online that mimics the infamous Blast Processing ad from so many years ago. The original ad poked fun at Nintendo's Mode 7 graphics at the expense of the first Mario Kart, and the new ad takes shots at the latest release, Mario Kart World. While it likely doesn't have anything to do with the delay, it is kind of fun to think about Nintendo and Sega battling it out again like they did back in the day.
In any case, I'm sure the demo will be available the eShop soon, and it is available on the other storefronts now, so go and check it out to see if this really is the beginning of a racing rivalry between Mario and Sonic. And, in case you don't remember the original ad, or maybe weren't even around back then, you can check it out below.
