Boltgun: Words of Vengeance Update Doubles the Heresy with New Levels and Typing Fury
Warhammer 40,000 fans, grab your keyboards, it's time to type like your life depends on it! Auroch Digital has dropped a major free update for Boltgun: Words of Vengeance, the typing game spinoff from the excellent boomer shooter Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. Launched earlier this year as a bit-sized freebie on Steam, this Ultramarine-led heresy hunt lets you step into Malum Caedo's power armor, blasting Chaos Marines, cultists, and daemons by rapidly typing phrases that pop up over their heads. It's a hilarious mashup of Typing of the Dead's mechanics with 40k's over-the-top gore. And now, with this "Double the Content" patch released on October 16th, the game's word count has literally doubled, making it a must-revisit for quick, chaotic sessions.
What's New

The update brings three brand-new levels straight from Boltgun's Forges of Corruption expansion: Canyon Magrails (a high-speed train chase through industrial hellscapes), The Deep Vault (a claustrophobic delve into ancient ruins teeming with horrors), and a mystery third stage packed with fresh enemy waves. These new levels ramp up the challenge with escalating typing speeds and complex phrases, forcing you to hammer keys while dodging incoming fire.
Over 400 new words and quotes amp the vocabulary, drawing from 40k lore for thematic zingers like "Zeal is its own excuse" or "Death has found you" all while your boltgun thunders with each correct keystroke. And for that extra layer of tension, timed textboxes can now appear, shrinking your window to type before enemies close in; miss a letter, and watch your health bar melt.

This update comes as a direct response to community pleas for more content, Auroch may have originally underestimated how much players wanted to type their way through the chaos hordes. If you're new to Words of Vengeance, you can download it for free on Steam (PC only for now). Then just pick your difficulty, and type your way through levels inspired by Boltgun's campaigns. Don't be afraid to practice on easy to nail the rhythm, then crank up the difficulty for that high score run. It's the perfect game for short breaks, and you might just increase your words per minute along the way. With the base game already clocking high praise for its humor and fidelity to 40k's bombast, this doubling down ensures it'll keep you purging heretics well into the Emperor's light.

If you're ready to get blasting, I mean typing, hit up the Steam page and get started. Also, if you haven't played Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun definitely give it a try as well, it was one of my favorite Boomer Shooters when it released a few years ago. Good luck out there, let's hope those high school typing classes pay off in the depths of the dark future.
