Erdrick's Saga Looks Better Than Ever in this new Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Story Trailer

We're only a week away from jumping back into the world of Dragon Quest and, just in time, a new story trailer for Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake has landed. Dropped today by Square Enix, this cinematic showcase weaves the tales of two generations: the first Dragon Quest's lone warrior rising from humble origins to claim the legendary sword and armor and battling the shadowy Dragonlord; and the second's epic continuation, where his four descendants embark on a globe-trotting odyssey to defeat the evil Hargon.

The HD-2D visuals have never looked better than this, and seeing these 8-bit classics resurrected in such incredible form is a joy. There also appears to be so much new content in these games that while the overall story will feel familiar, there will still be plenty of surprises in store.

If you're a Switch and Switch 2 owner, the decision about which version to get is a little more difficult than usual, but whichever way you go, you're in for a holiday treat.
