Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition Announced for November, Heads to Switch 2 in 2026

At today's Fallout Day broadcast celebrating the in-universe Great War's anniversary (October 23, 2077), Bethesda Game Studios unveiled Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, a comprehensive re-release marking the 2015 RPG's 10th year since players first emerged from Vault 111 into the irradiated Commonwealth. This edition packs the base game with its six official expansions (Automatron, Far Harbor, Nuka-World, and the Workshop trilogy), plus over 150 pieces of Creation Club content, including new weapons, armor sets, quests, and even alternate Dogmeat breeds like a husky or Dalmatian for that extra wasteland companionship. It's the ultimate survival sandbox, blending settlement-building, V.A.T.S.-powered combat, and moral choices in a post-nuclear Boston, all polished with last year's next-gen update for better visuals and performance.

The real bombshell? A dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is coming in 2026, making Fallout 4 the franchise's Nintendo debut. Tailored for the hybrid's upgraded hardware, it'll deliver the full Anniversary Edition experience, expect optimized controls for handheld scavenging, Joy-Con aiming in V.A.T.S., and portable wasteland adventures perfect for on-the-go raids. Fallout 4 has been a game that I have constantly wanted to get back to over the year but just haven't found the time. This new Switch 2 edition might be just what I need to make it happen, I can't wait to see it in action.

While the PC, Xbox, and PS5 versions will launch on November 10th of this year, no exact date beyond "2026" was given for the Switch 2 version. This is a great opportunity for Bethesda to have a shiny new release in place when the next season of the Fallout TV show hits Prime on December 17th. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long into 2026 to get our hands on the Switch 2 release.
