The Séance of Blake Manor Could Be the Perfect Game for This All Hallows' Eve

As the jack-o'-lanterns flicker and the spooks come out on Halloween, new release The Séance of Blake Manor might just be the perfect under-the-radar game to scare you to sleep. Developed by Spooky Doorway, this supernatural detective mystery transports players to 1897 Ireland's remote Blake Manor, where Private Investigator Declan Ward probes the vanishing of guest Evelyn Deane; and it all starts just 48 hours before a Grand Séance on All Hallow's Eve. What starts as a missing persons case spirals into occult intrigue, blending Victorian spiritualism, Irish folklore, and colonial ghosts in a first-person narrative that will keep you on your toes.

Seance of Blake Manor - Investigation

At its core, The Séance of Blake Manor is a masterclass in investigative tension, where every creak of floorboards and whispered conversation counts. You roam the manor's eerie corridors in first-person, eavesdropping on the 24 guests ranging from mystics, grieving widows, and shady staff, each harboring motives tied to loss, revenge, or the supernatural. Interact with objects for clues, interrogate suspects via branching dialogue trees, and log everything in a journal that visualizes connections between it all.

Time, as always, is your foe; a real-time clock ticks down two in-game days, with each action costing minutes. You'll have to decide where to go, and what to investigate at each moment, otherwise you might not overhear a pivotal confession. There is no combat, just environmental puzzles, observation, your wits, and mounting dread as the séance nears, and the tension mounts.
